1970 Monte SS 454

The 1970 Monte Carlo SS, also known as the Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Sport, was a high-performance version of the Monte Carlo coupe. It was introduced in 1970 after the success of the Pontiac GTO and the Oldsmobile 442. The Monte Carlo SS came with a standard 454 cubic inch V8 engine that produced 360 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. It also had a heavy-duty suspension, power disc brakes, and a dual exhaust system. The interior of the Monte Carlo SS was also upgraded, with bucket seats, a console, and a floor shifter as standard features. The exterior featured unique SS badging, rally stripes, and a cowl induction hood with a functioning air scoop. The 1970 Monte Carlo SS was only available in one color, Corteza Silver, and only 3,823 were produced. Today, the Monte Carlo SS is a highly sought after collectible car, with prices ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 depending on the condition and originality of the vehicle.
