“The Little Guardian”
Every afternoon, when the golden sunlight poured gently through the living room window, a small girl named Lila would lie on the soft carpet in her yellow pajamas, pretending to be asleep. It was her favorite game.
Her cat, Miso, a fluffy ball of white and gray fur, would always come padding softly across the rug. At first, Miso would sniff Lila’s feet curiously, his tiny nose twitching as if to ask, “Are you okay?” When Lila didn’t move, Miso would gently nudge her toes, then her hand, his purrs growing louder with concern.
Sometimes, Miso would circle around her like a tiny guardian, his tail brushing against her face, trying to wake her up. And the moment Lila finally lifted her head and giggled, Miso would meow proudly — as if he had just saved her from the deepest dream.
To anyone else, it might have looked like just a simple game between a girl and her cat. But to Miso, it was something more. Every touch, every purr, every playful tap was a little promise: “I’ll always take care of you.”
And so, in that warm little room filled with laughter and love, the bond between a child and her cat became something pure and unbreakable — proof that sometimes, the truest kind of love doesn’t need words at all.
