Deputy Kaleb Dailey of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office conducts a traffic stop on a car that failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle pulls into the parking lot of a local bar and a female driver exits the car along with a male passenger. Deputy Dailey asks to see the belligerent woman’s driver’s license but she refuses to show any identification. The woman not willing to oblige ensues a struggle when Deputy Dailey attempts to detain her. Shards of a crack pipe are found at the scene of the struggle as well as in the woman’s pocket. The woman’s boyfriend explains that she went to the bar to pick him up but remains cooperative while the officers conduct their investigation. They search her car and find multiple open containers, a credit card belonging to another person, a switchblade, and another pipe with a brillo pad inside of it. When asked why she didn’t cooperate during the traffic stop, the woman states her car had recently been stolen along with her driver’s license and other possessions. She admits to being a 15-time felon and asks to see her boyfriend before she is taken to jail. They kiss goodbye and she releases the car to him. Ironically, she was supposed to pick him up from the bar, despite her being intoxicated and he being sober. She will go to jail for traffic violations, DUI, drug paraphernalia, and felony possession of a knife.
