
The Chevrolet Impala SS is a performance version of the Chevrolet Impala full-size car, produced between 1961 and 1969. The SS (Super Sport) package included a high-performance engine, sport-tuned suspension, and other performance upgrades. The first generation of the Impala SS, produced from 1961 to 1964, featured a 409-cubic-inch V8 engine, while the second generation, produced from 1965 to 1970, featured a range of engines up to 427 cubic inches. The Impala SS was popular with drag racers and muscle car enthusiasts, and today is considered a classic American muscle car.
