1971 Chevrolet Nova

The 1971 Chevrolet Nova was a two-door compact car that was available in four different trim levels: base, Super Sport (SS), Rally, and Custom. It was an updated version of the previous year’s model, featuring some cosmetic changes and new engine options.

The base Nova came standard with a 250 cubic inch inline six-cylinder engine producing 145 horsepower, while the SS had a 350 cubic inch V8 with 270 horsepower. The Rally Nova had a 350 cubic inch V8 with either 245 or 270 horsepower, depending on the transmission. The Custom Nova had a 307 cubic inch V8 with 200 horsepower as standard, but could be upgraded to a 350 cubic inch V8 with 245 horsepower.

All Novas could be equipped with either a three-speed manual or a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Other available options included power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, and a variety of audio systems.

The 1971 Nova received mixed reviews, with some praising its performance and handling, while others criticized its bland styling and lack of a true sports car feel. Despite this, it remained a popular car throughout the 1970s and is still a beloved classic today.
